From stuck at a crossroads to moving on with confidence
When Heather came to see me, she felt she had been too long in the same role and she felt at a crossroads, not knowing which direction to take. She had been feeling anxious about her situation, but not able to find time to focus on how she might go about changing it. She hoped that from coaching she would get a better understanding of her transferable skills and the type of environment she should ideally be working in.
After six sessions, Heather had a much better understanding of her work preferences and skills and was less anxious about her situation. She said the coaching had taught her to be more analytical and strategic when thinking about next steps in her career.
Six months later, she was thriving in a new role that enabled her to use those skills and strengths she had identified in our sessions. And, as is often the case, the coaching process had helped her to identify opportunities that she might otherwise have missed.
“Doing the coaching sessions helped me to identify what matters for me in terms of work and the organisation,” she said.
“I have to admit, when I initially saw the ad for my current role I almost passed it by until I started looking at the more detailed description of functions and skills, which were really interesting and a good fit. So having done that unpicking process to understand my preferences was really useful.
“Thank you for your coaching, it definitely helped me to be more analytical about what ‘moving on’ should look like.”
